The fonds consists of materials created and accumulated by the Canadian Order of Foresters, Court Jubilee No. 12 in Brandon, Manitoba from 1948 to 1994. Material includes meeting minutes from 1981 to 1994, which provide information on dates and places of meetings, attendance, treasurer's reports, bills and accounts, committee reports, and society business. The collection contains records pertaining to early life in the Brandon area (c.1890-1950). The majority of records are from local businesses in Brandon. Records pertaining to local businesses include receipt books, price booklets, advertisements, invoices, order forms, business cards, a ledger book, rent records, and patent certificates. There are two reports on the Rural Municipality of Daly: "List of Electors" and "Auditor's Report." There is also a small number of household items--among them, a Gaelic Bible, a book of religious stories, a sewing book, a songbook, and vehicle registration cards. Also in the collection are 11 photographs of Brandon-area businesses, residents, and events.

Scope and Content: The collection consists of material collected by Martin Kavanagh pertaining to the history of Manitoba. The majority of the textual documents are newspaper clippings from local newspapers. From where he obtained the photographs is unknown. The content of the fond pertains to the city of Brandon’s early history. The fond contains newspaper clippings about the city’s prominent members, clubs, events, schools, and businesses. It contains photographs of prominent building such as hotels, and other important businesses. The photographs document many areas of life in early Brandon including businesses, industry, agriculture, transportation, and education.
