Fonds contains copies of settlement era 1881-1905 documents related to Wallace family homesteading in the Shellmouth region, correspondence between Andrews Wallace and figures at Brandon College c. 1941 concerning the donation of the Wallace correspondence to the Brandon College library, and extensive correspondence to and from Dr. William Morrison concerning the publication of My Dear Maggie, an edited version of some of the Wallace correspondence.

Wesmen Athletics fonds

This fonds consists of records related to the University of Winnipeg’s sports teams in men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball, the Wesmen; as well as the University of Winnipeg’s Athletic Department, facilities, and staff. Many of the records were generated by the University of Winnipeg, documenting its seasonal teams and games or invitational tournaments – photographs, programs, posters, booklets, brochures, media reports, correspondence, and video recordings. Other similar records were generated by the sports governing bodies, such as U Sports (previously Canadian Interuniversity Sport Association or Canadian Interuniversity Sport). The Athletic Department also collected newspaper or magazine articles related to the Wesmen or the University of Winnipeg from a variety of publications. The records are divided into eight series. The first is comprised of those newspaper clippings. The second relates to the Wesmen Classic, the iconic annual invitational tournament held in Winnipeg with teams from across Canada. The third relates to the annual activities of the Wesmen and the Athletic Department: primarily the seasonal teams and games through sports governing bodies, but including other invitational tournaments and the Athletic Department’s staff and facilities. The fourth series relates to the planning and execution of the Canadian Interuniversity Sport basketball championships, which were hosted by the University of Winnipeg in 2004 and 2005. The fifth series is comprised of a variety of photographs. The sixth series is comprised of posters produced by the University for its annual Wesmen teams and tournaments. The seventh series contains several video recordings of Wesmen games or interviews with Wesmen players and staff. Finally, the eighth series contains several miscellaneous objects related to the Wesmen or the University’s athletic history.

Collection consists of photocopies of research undertaken for Footsteps In The Sand, including a street map of Sidney (1900), land ownership reports, voter's list (1898, 1900), township maps (1876), genealogies for families and schools in Sidney, Arizona, and Firdale. Includes news clippings, business advertisements from the Carberry News Express, poems, and letters. Of note is a clipping on a fire disaster in Sidney. Black and white photographs show the Sidney Rifle club (1909), Main Street, school, Methodist Church, CPR station, flour mill, and Brick Yard, livery stable. Painting by Clara (McLachlan) Lintott shows grain elevators. The Lintotts wrote a McLachlan family history in circa 1990's.

Fonds consists of black and white photographs of farm houses in the Wellwood, Castle Point, Fairview, Stinson, Petrel, and Carberry areas. Au verso of each photograph, the house owners have been identified. The 1988.218 accession shows a threshing outfit taken prior to 1910 and has Orville McKay written au verso. The 1988.252 accession shows unknown families. The 1988.253 accession shows the Intermediate Hockey Club (1906). The 1996.13 accession shows Matthew Wise (1847-1913).

Collection consists of photographs of Carberry, some of which Joseph Paynter created. Photographs depict inventions by David Kerr, such as the Jones Windstacker, later known as the Carberry Blower attachment to threshing machines at the turn of the century. Photographs show construction of the Lake of the Woods Milling Company, the Maple Leaf Football Team (champions of Manitoba in 1896). Album illustrates family members. One photograph shows students and teacher of Carberry School ([ca. 1905]). Booklet is dated 1903 and is entitled Souvenirs of Carberry. H. H. Allen took some of the photographs, as did E. R. T. Smith, and Davidson. News clippings describe the Windstacker, and marriages.
