The collection consists of textual records including share certificates from the Thistle Curling Club and certificates from the Grand Lodge Knights of Pythias of Manitoba as well as photographs of various members of the O’Hare family. Some of the more notable items include a tintype photograph of Peter O’Hare and a small leather pouch that John O’Hare used to hold gold nuggets during the Yukon Gold Rush.

The fonds contains all of Charles Gordon's known literary manuscripts, his ministry records, his papers, writings and maps as a chaplain in the Canadian army in World War I, his papers as a labour negotiator in many Winnipeg labour disputes before and after the war, and various personal papers including those as Moderator of the Presbyterian Church. His literary papers consist of original manuscripts, publishers' correspondence, and abundant fan mail. The photographs are mainly of Gordon, the family cottage at Lake of the Woods, and some pictures of his ministry.

The fonds consists of textual records, publications, maps, plans, and ephemera that document Hunt's education and career as a civil engineer in Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Textual records and some maps relating to his service as a major in the Canadian militia are also included in the fonds. The records document Hunt's education in engineering at the University of Manitoba in the early 1900s. His work in engineering is also documented, particularly through maps, including the Falcon Lake Park, highways construction, irrigation systems, and others. His service in the military led him to document the history of various rifle regiments, the Officer Training Corps, and field engineering military training, which provides particularly valuable information on the period between World War I and World War II military training. His interest in the Hudson Bay Railway supplies a rich documentation on the subject. Some of the ephemera Hunt collected over the years is of particular interest. The material isespecially valuable for historical research in the history of engineering in Manitoba and Canadian military history.

The collection contains the files, reports, correspondence, maps, and pamphlets that Birse created and collected throughout his life. Of special interest are his diaries and work journals, mineral claims, company reports, and approximately 150 photographs of various geological expeditions in northern Manitoba from 1924 to 1937.

The fonds contains some of Dr. Gordon S. Fahrni's personal and professional papers dating from 1924 to 1977. Included are Fahrni's genealogical table, a German translation of his father's biography, Christian Fahrni, his recollections of medicine and of the Manitoba Medical School (1906-1946), and an interview with Gordon Fahrni by Jean Morrison. Also included is a collection of offprints of his research papers.

The fonds consists of a large agricultural account ledger of a terminal grain elevator near Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. The ledger includes accounts of warehouses in Ogilvie, Minnedosa, Burnside, Binscarth, Austin, Gladstone, and McDonald, Manitoba. The ledger also includes accounts with many Winnipeg grain families such as Richardson, Sutherland, Armstrong, Rathburn, Kirkwood, Drysdale, Ashdown, and others.

The fonds consists of two accessions, both containing various records specific to particular members of the Guttormsson/Guttormson, Johannesson, Anderson, and Russell families. Particularly dominant in the family records found in the first accession (A14-70) are Einar Guttormsson, Stephan Guttormsson, Frederikka Elizabeth Johannesson, Asdis Sigrun Anderson, Hinrik Guttormson, and James Watt. Thus, the accession has been organized into series or subject files featuring each of these family members. The first series contains the records of Einar Guttormsson. The second series is made up of the records of Stephan Guttormsson. The third series comprises the effects of Frederikka Elizabeth Johannesson. The fourth series features Asdis Sigrun (Guttormsson) Anderson's personal effects. The fifth series contains the records of Hinrik Guttormson. The seventh series consists of the work of James Watt. The eighth series contains general family history and familial records. The ninth series contains Oversize Materials. Accession A14-74 contains original correspondence from young soldiers Private Fredrik and Sergeant Hinrik Guttormson as they served in World War Two.

The fonds consists of an original land patent, dated May 22, 1889, granting Thomas Nevin a quarter section of land (160 acres) in Township 11 of Manitoba. The fonds also contains an excerpt from an unknown book detailing the Nevin family history.

The fonds consists of Dr. Joan Finkle de Peña’s manuscripts, articles and lecture notes pertaining to her academic teaching career at St. Louis University, and the University of Manitoba. The fonds also consists of material pertaining to her research in Puerto Rico when she was a graduate student, as well as a her academic research work with her studies of the Inuit of the North, during her tenure as a faculty member with the Department of Anthropology, University of Manitoba. In addition there are textual records pertaining to her involvement with various national and international professional associations, including the Sigma Xi Scientific Society. The collection also contains a total of 4624 photographs, 90 negatives, and 1,125 photo slides.
