Series consists of speeches written, given or collected by Laura Johnson, scholarship written and/or presented by her as well as a clipping attached to a speech. The series provides information on staff education, public health, psychiatric concepts, rehabilitation, and nursing as well as some biographical information on Dr. Margaret Nix.
Series documents Laura Johnson's achievements as a nurse and consists of graduation pins from the Winnipeg General Hospital and the University of Toronto Nursing Schools, as well as a pin from the Manitoba Nursing Division.

The collection consists of ephemeral publications and audio recordings related to the Indigenous languages of Rupert's Land. Many of these were originally produced for language instruction and included teacher's manuals, readers, workbooks, curriculum guides, journals, reference materials, proceedings, and monographs. There are also materials published by missionary groups and religious societies for classroom teaching and services.
