The collection consists of ephemeral publications and audio recordings related to the Indigenous languages of Rupert's Land. Many of these were originally produced for language instruction and included teacher's manuals, readers, workbooks, curriculum guides, journals, reference materials, proceedings, and monographs. There are also materials published by missionary groups and religious societies for classroom teaching and services.

Eugene Deslaw Fonds

Most of the materials in the fonds reflect Slabchenko’s/Deslaw’s interest and participation in Ukrainian diplomatic activity, best exemplified by his unpublished manuscript Dyplomatychna Istoriia Ukrainy (Diplomatic History of Ukraine) and the artefacts and images he collected which relate to UNR diplomatic missions. Images, documents and labels collected by Deslaw were part of an exhibition in the late 1970s. The fonds also contains items relevant to Deslaw’s film career, including newspaper clippings about the films he directed.

The papers are arranged into one series, drafts of his memoirs. The series includes drafts of Parker’s memoirs detailing his childhood in Winnipeg, his years at Wesley College, his work as a journalist, his work for the government and the war years, and his time at Ryerson University. Some correspondence with the University of Winnipeg is also included.

Collection consists of photographs and other images acquired by the Jewish Heritage Centre of Western Canada and its predecessors. The focus of the collection is on Jewish life in Western Canada from the earliest settlement to the 21st Century but also includes photographs from other parts of Canada, the United States, Europe, Israel and reproductions of historical images of Jewish life over the centuries.

The records come from a wide variety of sources, including families, individuals, professional photographers and a number of Jewish organizations. Individuals who provided records include politicians, religious figures, business persons and others from a various walks of life. Organizations include the Young Men’s Hebrew Association, synagogues, women’s organizations, mutual aid societies and others.

The collection includes depictions of a broad number of subjects. These may include formal family and individual photographs, farm life, religious activities, political activities, sporting teams and events, charitable work, images of atrocities during the holocaust, schoolchildren, military activities among many others. Also included are photographs of Jewish artefacts.

The geographic focus of the collection is Western Canada primarily depicts Winnipeg and other Jewish communities throughout Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and northwestern Ontario. Some material also persons and places in British Columbia and a small number in Toronto and Montreal and other parts of Canada. Many of the records also include images of Jewish immigrants and their families in Europe prior to their emigration. Other photographs were taken in Israel, reflecting Jewish Canadian work or travel there as well as a smaller number from the United States.

A small number of artefacts and textual records can also be found in photograph albums and scrapbooks.

Ce fonds documente le travail et l'administration des Chanoinesses régulières des Cinq Plaies du Sauveur et des Soeurs du Sauveur. Les documents remontent à la fondation de l'Association des coeurs dévoués aux Cinq Plaies jusqu'à la fermeture de la dernière maison-mère à Saint-Boniface. On y retrouve donc de la correspondance et des papiers personnels des principaux acteurs des débuts de la congrégation, soit Dom Adrien Colomb de Gast, l'abbé Jean Vianney, mère Octavie Delaunay, le père Auguste Delaroche et mère Célanire Maire. Ce fonds contient en outre des procès-verbaux, règles, chapitres, études, registres, coutumiers et rapports de l'Association des Coeurs dévoués, de l'Archiconfrérie des Coeurs dévoués et du Monastère des Cinq Plaies de Lyon. On y retrouve en outre de l'information sur le noviciat, sur les professions et de la correspondance reçue par les premières religieuses. Surtout, ce fonds traite aussi de la présence des Chanoinesses au Canada. On y retrouve donc de la correspondance entre les religieuses et l'Archevêché de Saint-Boniface, Dom Paul Benoit et les Chanoines Réguliers de l'Immaculée-Conception, des statistiques et rapports, des règles et coutumiers, des cérémoniaux, des photographies, des chroniques ainsi que de nombreux documents administratifs et financiers des soeurs canadiennes. On y retrouve de plus des documents personnels, des biographies et de la correspondance de mère Honorine de la Croix et de mère Augustine de l'Eucharistie. En outre, ce fonds documente les paroisses où les Soeurs du Sauveur ont oeuvré comme: Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, Saint-Léon, Saint-Alphonse, Lebret, Gravelbourg, Saint-Lupicin, Saint-Claude, Haywood, Saint-Boniface (Précieux-Sang), Sainte-Rose-du-Lac, Sherbrooke ainsi que leurs missions au Brésil et en Haïti. Ce fonds contient aussi de l'information sur la fondation et la gestion du Musée des pionniers et des Chanoinesses de Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes ainsi que de nombreux récits, textes, chants et pièces de théâtre écrits par les religieuses. On y retrouve en outre les patrons de couture des costumes des Chanoinesses ainsi que d'anciens inventaires et codes de catalogage des archives des Soeurs du Sauveur. Ce fonds documente donc ainsi l'oeuvre des religieuses dans toutes les paroisses où elles ont oeuvrées, de l'Europe jusqu'au Brésil.
