The fonds consists of manuscript notebooks of courses taken by E. P. Fetherstonhaugh at McGill University from 1897 to 1899. There are four folders. Folder 1 contains a manuscript notebook of Mechanics and Kinematics, a course taken by E. P. Fetherstonhaugh in Spring 1897. Folder 2 contains three manuscript notebooks of Machine Design, a course taken in Fall 1897, and Spring 1898. Folder 3 contains a manuscript notebook of Dynamics of Machinery, a course taken in Spring 1899. The back cover of the notebook holds two loose leaves of Electrical Engineering notes. Folder 4 contains two manuscript notebooks: Electrical Physics, taken in Fall 1897/Spring 1898, and Electrical Engineering, taken in Fall 1898/Spring 1899. Folder 5 contains a book: Essays and Addresses, Religious, Literary and Social by Phillips Brooks (1894) awarded to E.P. Fetherstonhaugh as a prize in the high school in 1895.

The fonds displays a wealth of background information on the state of Aboriginal Peoples in Canada in the late-20th and early-21st centuries, as well as showing the depth and versatility of a uniquely gifted artist. The fonds consists of four series related to the life and career of Marvin Francis. The material documents his writing career as a poetry and prose writer with an indexed collection based on typewritten and handwritten manuscripts. Included are drafts of poetry, short stories, and stage and radio plays. Also in the collection is extensive secondary information reflective of his career as a poet, playwright, visual artist and actor, his work as a creative writing instructor, his participation in writing festivals and readings, and his work as a principal member of artistic groups such as the Manitoba Aboriginal Writers Collective, the Urban Shaman art gallery and the Manitoba Writers Guild. PC 250 consists of 6 VHS videocassettes and 2 mini digital videocassettes. The tape collection (TC 141) consists of 7 audio cassettes, 6 mini audio cassettes, and 7 compact discs. EL 12 consists of 8 3.5" computer diskettes.

Marshall Gauvin fonds

The fonds consists primarily of the free thought lectures of M.J. Gauvin delivered between 1909 and 1940 and his correspondence. There are also personal and biographical memorabilia and correspondence of the Gauvin-Becker families, as well as articles and news clippings relating to religion and free thought. Gauvin's voluminous library on free thought, religion, and anti-religion was donated to the University of Manitoba Libraries and is catalogued and available for use. The fonds also contains 54 pamphlets and individually catalogued ephemera on ethics, Christianity, and parapsychology (MSS 90) and 178 photographs (PC 36).

The fonds contains all of Charles Gordon's known literary manuscripts, his ministry records, his papers, writings and maps as a chaplain in the Canadian army in World War I, his papers as a labour negotiator in many Winnipeg labour disputes before and after the war, and various personal papers including those as Moderator of the Presbyterian Church. His literary papers consist of original manuscripts, publishers' correspondence, and abundant fan mail. The photographs are mainly of Gordon, the family cottage at Lake of the Woods, and some pictures of his ministry.

The fonds consists of an unpublished report written by Grant and funded by the Hudson's Bay Research Fellowship 1922-1923. The report provides details on research into the production costs, management, and business organization of fifteen mixed and fifteen dairy farms in Manitoba. The report includes an autographed typescript letter from Premier John Bracken, Winnipeg, dated May 11, 1925.
