Katherina Klassen fonds

This collection consists of diaries, journals, correspondence, and poems that Katharina Klassen wrote and collected. The material in the scribblers are at times a mix of writings, which makes the labelling of them difficult. Most of the material is in German, and some is in the Gothic script.

Kliewer family fonds

The records in this collection contain correspondence and genealogical data on the Kliewer family. The first portion of correspondence are letters written in Russia and Germany to Miss Helena Kliewer of Niverville, Manitoba in 1924,1947,1948. The second portion are letters written to Peter A. Kliewer in 1893,1920,1926 that have been photocopied by his daughter Susan. She wrote a letter with some explanations to the letters and donated the copies to the Centre. All but the most recent material (1986) is handwritten in German Gothic Script.

The material in this collection consists of an account written by Johann Kroeker's daughter about the family. The other significant material in this collection are six photos which include the family and Anna Funk.

The papers and letters of Jacob A. Kroeker concern themselves mostly with beginning and supporting hospitals in Paraguay. Most of the letters, personal and official, are addressed to Kroeker, but only a small amount of the correspondence was created by him. Also in this fonds are records of Kroeker's practice.

The Jakob Neufeld fonds consists of Jakob Neufeld's life story and poetry, written by him, in the German language. An English translation of his story is also in this fonds.

Ida Penner (1903- ) fonds

The material in this fonds consists of Ida's Bible school notebooks created as a result of her time at the Pniel Bible School in Winkler. Also included is a textbooks published around 1905, used by Penner for her students in Southern Manitoba. She wrote an article in The Beaver recounting her teaching days. The microfiches contain the diary of Ida Penner between 1925 and 1933. Her friends and classmates from the Winkler Bible School gave the photographs to Ida Penner. Included are graduation photos and wedding photographs. This collection would be useful in the study of clothing in the late 1920s and early 1930s, including wedding attire.

The material in this collection was collected by Abe Penner as it related to his musical career. It contains Penner's testimony, music, and music programs that Penner was involved with. Also included is a list of all the material donated by Penner.

The Susan B. Peters fonds consists of 11 photographs (1940-1946), correspondence (1944-1956), personal effects (1915-1980), biographical material, and a plate from Mennonite Central Committee. The documents and memorabalia in this fonds were created as a result of Peters involvement with MCC. Part of the Peters fond, relating to her teaching experiences, is in the Glenbow Archives (an inventory is available in this fonds).
