The fonds contains printed and bound material including minute books, annual reports, newsletters, miscellaneous bound record books, photographs and museum artifacts.

The sous-fonds reflects the changes and developments in the Department of Nursing from the 1960s until 1973. It is arranged into three series: Administrative, Nursing services and Inservice education.

Series consist of lecture notes taken by students who attended the Winnipeg General Hospital and HSC School of Nursing. The material includes both handwritten and typewritten notes, and reference material such as procedure books and course descriptions.

Subseries includes records related to student government including handbooks for student nurses published by the Student Government Association. The handbooks were produced to interpret the policies of the School of Nursing and also contain the constitution of the Student Government Association. They contain information about student life such as information about the campus (e.g. Uniform regulations, Cafeteria Hours, Late passes and Vacations, Recreational activities and behaviour in residence) and information about the city of Winnipeg (e.g. Shops, Parks, Libraries, Entertainment, Banks and religious houses).

The handbook was produced as a stapled booklet from at 1945 to 1965. In 1969 the format changed and the handbook was produced as loose-leaf pages in a small duo-tang folder. In later years the handbooks were stapled together and hole punched for insertion into a standard binder.

Series is a collection of information about the ways in which Student Nurses entertained themselves and communicated with each other.

Series is a copy of the affiliation agreement between Brandon Mental Hospital and Winnipeg General Hospital School of Nursing related to student nurses training at both facilities.

Subseries is records related to accreditation of the School of Nursing by the Manitoba Association for Registered Nurses (MARN) specifically annual reports submitted to MARN by Winnipeg General and HSC School of Nursing.

Series consists of correspondence and Terms of Reference for various Specific Purpose Accounts related to the administration of scholarships to students and graduates from the Winnipeg General Hospital and the Health Sciences Centre Schools of Nursing. Series also consists of other records related to funds for nursing students.

Series consists of records created by the School of Nursing and the Alumni Association in relation to the various anniversary celebrations of the founding of the School of Nursing. Anniversaries celebrated were the 50th, 60th, 75th, 100th and 110th. Series is a mix of clippings, correspondence, notes, invitations and other ephemera.
