Fonds is divided into six series. The first includes promotional campaign materials from his time as an MLA and MP in various ridings in Winnipeg, 1966-2000, as well as photographs taken from local political activities. The second includes ministerial records, particularly his notes and research about the events he was involved in, and photographs mainly documenting his meetings with various international dignitaries and VIPs. This series comes primarily from his time as Minister of Foreign Affairs, 1996-2000. The third includes records from his activities after leaving public life, such as notes and research for papers and speeches and for his activities with the Liu Centre for Global Studies and the United Nations. The fourth includes materials directly related to his book, Navigating a New World: Canada’s Global Future, such as outlines, drafts, correspondence with his editor, and supplementary research.
