Arthur W. Slagel fonds

This fonds contains 276 photographs taken and received by Arthur W. Slagel during his 3-year assignment with Mennonite Central Committee from 1920-1923. The collection has photos of the relief work in Russia showing various aspects of the work including workers, headquarters, storage, distribution, seeded and distributed crops, transportation, buildings and homes. The photos were taken in locations such as Chortitza, Alexandrosk, Schoenwiese, Rosenthal, Halbstadt, Gnadenfeld, Ohrloff, Nicopol, and Sagradowka. There are images of the 1923 emigration group from Schoenwiese leaving for Canada. There are general scenic photos of the Dnieper rapids, the Kremlin and other sites in Moscow. Some photographs were likely given to Slagel from Mennonite workers in Russia, such as the Solomon Ediger family, the Peter Nikkel family, the Johann Janzen family, the Ohrloff teachers and others. And, finally there are photos of travels taken in England, Holland, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Austria, Poland, Egypt, Palestine and Syria.

Edith Laycock fonds

This collection consists of memorabilia kept by Edith Laycock. A large part of the collection consists of programs from plays that Laycock performed in or directed during the 1950's and 1960's. There are also numerous newspaper clippings about Laycock's plays including reviews, pictures, and advertisements. This collection also includes a folder of programs from the Brandon Little Theatre productions in the 1950's, as well as clippings about the Little Theatre. There are also numerous articles about miscellaneous drama and art events throughout Brandon, Manitoba, and Canada. The collection also includes Laycock's daybook from 1962, and travel notes from Laycock's 1952 trip to Great Britain and Europe. The latter contains a passenger list for the Empress of Scotland, August 5, 1952. The collection further includes Canadian Pacific Railway passes dating from 1947-1963 and a copy of the Canadian Pacific Pension Plan. Fonds also contains material from the various organizations that Laycock was involved with including the Brandon Council of Women and Beta Sigma Phi. Fonds includes 12 photos that appear to be family photos from Laycock's childhood. Finally, the fonds contains various copies of plays that Laycock performed in or directed.

Cet album documente la vie d'étudiant de Rodolphe Bélanger au Collège de Saint-Boniface, ses études en théologie, son ordination et ses activités durant sa vie de prêtrise. On y trouve de la correspondance, des coupures de presse, On trouve des photographies de pièces de théâtre, des salles de classe et de l'incendie du Collège Saint-Boniface. On y retrouve plusieurs de ses confrères. Y sont particulièrement représentés les évêques Maurice Baudoux et Laurent Tétreault, l'abbé Norbert Jutras, Hector Allard, René-Lionel Gendreau, Godias Brunet et les familles Jutras et Houle. Les tournées de La Liberté sont documentées représentant plusieurs activités et endroits du Manitoba. On y voit un bac à Saint-Jean-Baptiste, des vues d'une excursion au fort Saint-Charles sur le lac des Bois en 1930. Une collection de cartes postales documente certains de ses voyages.
