Sarah Story interviews Jeffrey Dunn of Winnipeg, Manitoba about his time as a manager and union steward at Scott-Bathgate. Dunn was raised in Winnipeg and joined the workforce out of high school in the 1970s. Dunn began work at Scott-Bathgate in 1986 working his way up to head of shipping and receiving before his retirement in 2012. Throughout the interview, Dunn describes the way new technology was integrated into the operations side of the business, as well as the social aspect of the company and how employees interacted with one another. Finally, Dunn explains in detail his time as union steward and the roles he played in ensuring employee health and safety, negotiations, and arbitration as well as general labour history for context.
