The Bridle family fonds consists of a guestbook manufactured by Hutchings and Patrick Limited, Ottawa, Ontario, each page indicates the month, day, date and person(s) who visited the Bridles in 1954 – 1955. All entries are hand-written by the same person.

The Fleet G. Whitakers fonds consists of a string bound file folder with the following contents: microfilm copy 23 pgs., notebook municipal law 46 pgs., lined paper international law 49 pgs., notes various 13 pgs., legal briefs 142 and 122 pgs. These appear to be notes from when he attended law school in Saskatoon.

Provincial Building fonds

The Provincial Building fonds consists of a record book for the Provincial building, serving as a record of work attendance and hours and later shifting to a record of specific work done. The Provincial Building was erected in The Pas as a one-storey facility in 1958 – 1959, with the second floor added in 1969 – 1970. The Provincial Building was the site of the Province of Manitoba’s first administrative headquarters for the North. The building initially housed several departments and branches: health, agriculture, labour, forestry, lands, game & fish, as well as a small tourist information office. The Provincial Building still houses a number of provincial government departments and services including Conservation, Family Services & Housing, Health, Aboriginal & Northern Affairs, Agriculture, Food & Rural Initiatives, and Culture, Heritage & Tourism.

The Pas Postal Directory collection

The Pas Postal Directory collection consists of the postal directories arranged by profession and/or occupation code numbers, business box numbers, P.O. Box numbers, and general delivery. The first mail deliveries began in 1856 courtesy of the Hudson Bay Company store. The first separate post office was located next door to the HBC store. After the Town of The Pas’ incorporation in 1912, the first appointed Post Master was R. H. Bagshaw. The current Post Office at 161 Fischer Avenue was constructed in 1932 by the Federal Government to house the Post Office, Customs Office and RCMP. The building now houses the Post Office and government offices.

The Vern Walker fonds consists of a certificate of service for the SS David N. Winton, SS Alice Mattes, and Helen Anita, letters of correspondence for and from Vern Walker, a certificate “Master of Tugboat” to Vern Walker, and Naturalisation act for Vern Walker.

John Kerr fonds

The John Kerr fonds consists of a civil engineering graduation thesis based on studies to divert part of the Saskatchewan River into Lake Winnipegosis to reclaim land for agricultural purposes. The text is broken into two parts; the first concerning “General Facts of the Area” and the second concerning “Reclamation of the Area”. The thesis has diagrams, maps, graphs, and tables to complement the text.

George Lindsay fonds

The George Lindsay fonds consists of photocopies of two poems. The first poem is called “Our Community Building” which briefly names and describes the people who worked in each office of The Pas Community Building and Court House. The second poem called “Whisky Joe” is about a man that made “home brew” or moonshine and was caught by the police (RCMP). The rhyming scheme of both poems is AABB for each verse.

The Ross Navigation Company collection consists of five certificates of the steamboat ‘Tobin’ of Kenora for the Ross Navigation Company Limited of The Pas, Manitoba for the years 1927, 1928, 1930, 1934 and 1935, and a letter and list relating to the disposal of Captain Horatio Hamilton Ross’ effects from 1925.

Alfred Richardson fonds

The Alfred Richardson fonds consists of a variety of certificates and letters concerning notification of military honours. The first two items are certificates of honour for outstanding service in the campaign in North West Europe during WWII from a Field Marshal and Secretary of State for War. The remaining items are letters concerning awards and medals for Richardson’s actions from various government departments including the United States Embassy, and a write up on what Richardson did to deserve these medals and awards.
