Fonds includes various photos from Brandon College Class of 1921, as well as other photos dating from approximately 1915. Fonds also includes an article about Dr. Jane Turnbull, a sister of Christine Turnbull who served on the faculty of Brandon College. The article first appeared in the Brandon College Alumni News in 1967. Finally, the collection contains a copy of a letter written to Dr. Jane Turnbull from former Canadian Governor General Lord Tweedsmuir. Westman Oral History Collection

The collection includes the audiotapes used to record the interviews, as well as corresponding files for each interview subject. The files contain facts about the interviewees, including date and place of birth, occupations, and marital status. The files also include a summary of the interview heard on each tape. The interviews were done with men and women pioneers from the Westman area of Manitoba, and describe the daily lives of common people during the late-nineteenth and early-twentieth centuries. The topics covered in the interviews include the following: Agriculture, Associations and Clubs, Churches and Church Life, Cultural Events, Early Politics, Education, Health Services, Immigration, Local Businesses, Native-White Relations, Pioneer Settlements, Pioneer Way of Life, Social Life, Sports, Transportation, and War Brides. This collection includes interviews with residents from the following communities: Brandon, Boissevain, Brookdale, Carberry, Deloraine, Douglas, Elkhorn, Erickson, Forrest, Glenboro, Hamiota, Hartney, Justice, Kenton, Killarney, Melita, Minnedosa, Neepawa, Ninette, Oak Lake, Rapid City, Reston, Rivers, Shoal Lake, Sioux Valley Reserve, Souris, Strathclair, Virden, and Wawanesa. The interviews also disclose the unique experiences of pioneer women in rural areas. Many of the interviewees provide brief family histories during their interviews.

James Duncan McGregor fonds

Contents include photos and slides principally of the Klondike during the gold rush era (1897-1902), Government House seating plans and speeches from a wide variety of events (1912-1934), correspondence of McGregor's, primarily from his time as Lieutenant Governor (1912-1934), a (23 3/4 oz.) gold bag, a state publication "Instructions for Lieutenant Governors", documents pertaining to the history of the Manitoba Winter Fair, and documents dealing with the early career of Winston Churchill.

United Grain Growers Collection

This collection includes copies of correspondence between T.A. Crerar, President of United Grain Growers and Colin Burnell, President, Manitoba Co-operative Wheat Producers (1925-26); correspondence directed to the Shareholders of United Grain Growers (1926-38); minutes of a meeting between representatives of the United Grain Growers and the provincial wheat pools (1937); as well as a variety of publications about the history and activities of the United Grain Growers (1917-18, 1927, 1929, 1951, 1956).

The list includes the members' names and occupations, the date that they joined the lodge, and their status within the hierarchy of the lodge. Rathwell Women's Institute Collection

This is a small collection, consisting of the minutes of the group's meetings, including member lists and financial records, from 1939-1966. There is also a pamphlet called "The Story of the Women's Institutes of Manitoba 1910-1934" written by Mrs. H.M. Speechley "in loving and honoured memory of Mrs. David Watt." The collection also includes a book by Cicely McCall called "Women's Institutes." The inscription in the book reads, "To the members of the Rathwell Women's Institute with all good wishes from the members at Amberley, Sussex, Christmas 1943."

Henri G. Francq fonds

This fonds contains records pertaining to the career of Henri Francq at Brandon University, although the majority are concerned with his writing career after his retirement. Fonds includes published versions of his work, and an even greater number of unpublished manuscripts, and research material dealing with the Nazi holocaust and Ernst Zundel. Francq was a fierce opponent of fascism and racism. His work was dedicated principally to a critique of right-wing ideology and its political manifestations. His satirical works are all highly critical of modern society and politics. This fonds also contains a few issues of "La Revue de L'Universite Laval" from 1966.

This fonds contains records of past exhibitions, minutes and correspondence of the Brandon University Art Exhibition Committee. Fonds also contains personal files on some artists consisting of correspondence and of information pertaining to exhibitions of their work. There are also extensive files on past exhibits including advertising, correspondence, newspaper clippings, publications, and files concerning local affiliated art clubs, such as the Student Camera Club at Brandon University.
