Ada Janet Ross Collection

The collection reflects Ada Janet Ross’ nursing career and wartime experience from her nursing training, through to her death and posthumous honours. The records document her time at the Winnipeg General Hospital School of Nursing, the Women’s Hospital in New York, the Selkirk Hospital, as well as her affiliations with the Manitoba Association of Registered Nurses, the Nursing Sisters, and the Canadian Army Medical Corps. The collection consists of certificates, programmes, forms, correspondence, photographs, postcards and artefacts which have been arranged into seven series.

The series provides information on the events that preceded Miss Ross’ death, the progression of her illness, and the unveiling of a memorial in honour of nursing sisters who died in the First World War.
