Alfred Richardson fonds

The Alfred Richardson fonds consists of a variety of certificates and letters concerning notification of military honours. The first two items are certificates of honour for outstanding service in the campaign in North West Europe during WWII from a Field Marshal and Secretary of State for War. The remaining items are letters concerning awards and medals for Richardson’s actions from various government departments including the United States Embassy, and a write up on what Richardson did to deserve these medals and awards.

Armand & Florence Dupas collection

The Armand & Florence Dupas collection consists of a newspaper clipping for the Royal Winnipeg Rifles, two cheques to A. Dupas from Transport Ltd., Town of The Pas tax land receipt from 1949, Priority Suit Purchase certificate, Mechanical Transport Drivers Identification Card, tax notices for the Town of The Pas for 1947 and 1952, a Canadian National Telegram from 1943, a bill from St. Anthony’s Hospital, and a discharge certificate.

Ben Dembinsky Ltd. collection

The Ben Dembinsky Ltd collection consists of miscellaneous materials on the history of the Dembinsky/Trager building; bills, ads, notes, and a wage record book that lists names of employees with earnings, deductions and net pay, every two sheets being a payroll record for a different month.

Bert Hutton fonds

The fonds consists of a University chemistry notebook (ca. 1930), a letter to Bert Hutton’s father (1909) and a letter from Sports Illustrated to Bert Hutton about an article he submitted to them on Ducks Unlimited (1957), an article written for The Beaver, and a seven page autobiography on the Hutton family (from after 1974).

Bridle family fonds

The Bridle family fonds consists of a guestbook manufactured by Hutchings and Patrick Limited, Ottawa, Ontario, each page indicates the month, day, date and person(s) who visited the Bridles in 1954 – 1955. All entries are hand-written by the same person.

Brotherhood of the Maintenance of Way Employees (No. 1801) fonds

The Brotherhood of the Maintenance of Way Employees (No. 1801) fonds consists of a bound minute book of union local meetings listing members and outlining union activities and member welfare activities, a duplicate of the local charter (51 x 38.2 cm) dated 6 August 1935 listing executive members, and a cardboard mailing tube for the charter addressed to J. Mezzorabba.

Canadian National Telegraph collection

The Canadian National Telegraph collection consists of site plans of 26 locations of the northern route north of The Pas, including wire run down line and into location information, wiring information and wiring diagrams, which were utilised primarily at the local office by plant technicians and linemen. It also consists of Siemens Automatic Teleprinter Exchange TWK Instruction Manuals, CNT Installation Instructions, Circuit diagrams, technical training, circuit descriptions, and specifications for lines maintenance, etc. The Canadian National Telegraph Company, a part of the Canadian National Railway, established telegraph lines along the railways. The local office closed 31 December 1994, with MTS taking over the work.

The Carl Berger fonds consists of photocopies of correspondence between Sam Waller and Berger, dating from 1963 – 1978. The letters cover the subjects of Canadian commemorative stamps, stamp collection, and local news from The Pas.

Community Oral Histories collection

The Community Oral Histories collection is an artificially created collection of oral histories of The Pas and area community members, which were not conducted by or associated with the Sam Waller Museum. The collection consists of nineteen audio tapes of interviews with members of the community and summary transcripts of the interviews, as well as other audio records. Oral history interviews include Jack Walker, May Bridle, Hector Pocock, Phil Reader, Alec Russell, Ford McMillan, Syd Allen, Burt Hutton, Blake McKay, Bella Cochrane, Florence Gudgeon, Geoff Smith, Phyllis Chartrand, Tom Lamb, and Ed Johanson. Other audio recordings include The 3 Dee’s and the Trappers’ Festival 1965.
