Manitoba Eastern European Heritage Society (MEEHS) fonds

The fonds consists of material relating to the history of Eastern European communities in Manitoba. This includes over 400 photographs, almost 7000 slides, close to 200 contact sheets, close to 3000 negatives, correspondence, maps, research notes, church directories, church inventories, and architectural evaluations of Manitoba Eastern European churches. The collection also includes taped interviews with or about various church artists or architects. Also included in the collection are records related to the research and preparation of the manuscript "Monuments to Faith: Ukrainian Churches in Manitoba," as well as miscellaneous records of the Manitoba Eastern European Heritage Society.

Janice Hamilton fonds

The fonds is comprised of two accessions. The first contains a photograph album with photos, newspaper clippings, programs from school events in the 1930s and other documents, as well as loose photographs and baby books for T.G. and Lillian Hamilton's twins, Arthur Lamont (1915-1918) and James Drummond (1915-1980). It also includes the Forrester family prayer book (printed in 1771). The second accession derives from Lillian Hamilton and James D. Hamilton’s personal records, including psychical research publications, photographs and files pertaining to some of T.G. Hamilton’s psychic experiments.

They include: articles, book reviews and reports; organizations; Taiga Biological Station; correspondence; research material; mould damaged journals; photo collection (PC 281); tape collection (TC 155); microfilm collection (MF. 32); electronic records (EL 25); and maps (MC 34).

A12-75: This accession contains eight audio cassettes containing material on Andrew Taylor and interviews related to "Wild Harmony".

A12-106: This accession is arranged into three series; correspondence and documentation (including correspondence, research materials, manuscript drafts, and other documentation); audio/visual materials (PC 281 and TC 155); and map cabinet items (MC 34 - one map and 3 bioclimate charts).

Joan de Peña fonds

The fonds consists of Dr. Joan Finkle de Peña’s manuscripts, articles and lecture notes pertaining to her academic teaching career at St. Louis University, and the University of Manitoba. The fonds also consists of material pertaining to her research in Puerto Rico when she was a graduate student, as well as a her academic research work with her studies of the Inuit of the North, during her tenure as a faculty member with the Department of Anthropology, University of Manitoba. In addition there are textual records pertaining to her involvement with various national and international professional associations, including the Sigma Xi Scientific Society. The collection also contains a total of 4624 photographs, 90 negatives, and 1,125 photo slides.

The 2011 accession includes 13 series. They include biographical information, Masters and Ph.D. material, books written and edited by Sproxton, published articles, manuscript drafts and publicity material, writing journals and day planners, Red Deer College and academic correspondence, writing correspondence, writing notes, teaching notes, photograph collection (PC 315), tape collection (TC 162) and electronic records (EL 32).

The fonds includes materials compiled by the Canadian Association of Law Libraries. C.A.L.L. materials include executive correspondence, committee and Special Interest Group (S.I.G.) documentation, publications, oral histories and initiative projects. The majority of materials concern the administrative duties of the Executive Board. In addition to textual materials the fonds includes 21 photographs, 61 audio cassettes, 11 reel to reel audio tapes, 2 5 ¼” floppy discs, 26 3 ½” floppy discs, 3 compact discs and 2 microfilm reels.

The fonds consists of Ivan Syrnick's correspondence; Petro Danyliuk's correspondence; correspondence and articles sent to Canadian Farmer and Ukrainian Voice, two major Ukrainian newspapers in Winnipeg; and material pertaining to the Ukrainian Canadian Congresses, Ukrainian Self-Reliance League of Canada, Ukrainian War Veterans' Association, Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Carpathian Credit Union and other Ukrainian organizations. It also consists of rare periodicals published by the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists, National Youth Organization, and War Veteran's Association. This collection is a valuable contribution to the Archives of the Ukrainian Canadian Experience - covering material of major Ukrainian organizations in Winnipeg.
