Bolton Family Collection

The photographs and photographic postcards in this collection are comprised largely of portraits and family pictures belonging to the Bolton family. The majority of individuals photographed remain unidentified. Those who have been identified include James H. Bolton and Jennie Bolton. There are a number of photographs of soldiers from both WWI and WWII, including a photograph of Camp Sewell (Camp Hughes) near Carberry, Manitoba. There are also photographs of threshing, grain elevators, houses, and animals. The majority of these photographs are from Manitoba including the communities of Kelloe, Shoal Lake, Spruce Creek, Riding Mountain, Routledge, Winnipeg, Brandon, Carberry, Birtle, and Rossburn. Also found in the collection are photographs from Ontario, Saskatchewan, England, and the USA. Each photograph is described in further detail at the individual item level.

The collection is comprised of material accumulated or created by Beecham Trotter and his family. It consists of photographs of the Trotter family and other Brandon residents. Additionally, there are drawings of different locations in the Brandon area. The collection includes a magazine article and typewritten short story written by Beecham Trotter, numerous newspaper articles he wrote on the early days of Brandon, as well as newspaper clippings pertaining to members of the Trotter family and prominent Brandon figures. Many of these are in a scrapbook, while others are separate. Items are described in detail at the individual level in the Daly House Museum database.

Coldwell-Marsden Collection

The collection consists of material belonging to the Coldwell-Marsden family. The material contains 79 reprints of photographs taken in Manitoba, British Columbia, and Ontario. The majority of the photographs are of family members and other relations. There are photographs of George R. and Annie Coldwell's family, as well as of Phoebe Jane Coldwell and George W. Marsden's family. These include photographs of their children and grandchildren. Also included in this collection are photographs of written notes (addresses, labels, etc.), as well as of furniture previously belonging to the G.R. Coldwell family of Brandon. There is one map included in the collection. It is a 1928 copy of a plan for the city of Brandon originally drawn up in 1882.
