Guenther Sickert Collection

The Guenter Sickert Collection consists of newspaper articles, scrapbook pages, correspondence, photographs, maps, documents and publications collected by Guenter Sickert that relate to his and others' contributions to the German-Canadian community, primarily in Winnipeg. He was devoted to preserving German culture and language among German immigrants in Canada. The Sickert Collection is composed of the following series: German-Canadian Congress; Publications; German Society of Winnipeg; Camp Neustadt; Research Materials; Clubs and Organizations; Community Events; German-Canadian Historic Association; Miscellaneous; Newspaper; Photographs; and Maps. The records are spread across 18 boxes.

Fonds includes information about Winnipeg’s Metropolitan amalgamation, Winnipeg Art Gallery Competition, Canadian Museum for Human Rights, and the MAA’s connections to the University of Manitoba School of Architecture, and other projects. Some records identified as being created by the Manitoba Architects’ Wives Association.

Fonds consists of images taken by Peter Tittenberger or collected for the purposes for his practice. This includes slides of buildings and urban landscapes in Manitoba, predominately in downtown Winnipeg, and photographs that document the demolishment of buildings at Portage and Main and the construction of 201 Portage Avenue.

Items consist of 3 copies of a black and white photograph of guests at the ball, on one copy of which Mrs. Dimock has indicated her location when the photograph was taken. Also found here are invitations to the opening of the Winnipeg Art Gallery and the Lieutenant-Governor's Ball and a newspaper clipping describing the events.

This fonds includes digital masters, optical and negative tracks, broadcast VHS and Beta master videocassettes, release prints in 16 mm film and VHS video format. The moving images contain some colour and some black and white scenes. Otto Klassen's productions are the result of extensive research in archives, both in Canada and Germany. These productions represent the first time that the story of the Mennonite people in Prussia, Russia, Canada, Mexico, and Paraguay have been told through moving images. Several productions were released in multiple languages -- English, German, Low German and Spanish. Clergy Identification Cards fonds

The fonds consists of 59 identification cards for clergy working within the Ukrainian Catholic Archeparchy of Winnipeg. There are 59 portrait photographs of the clergy which were used as the photos on the identification cards. There are fifteen pages of textual records consisting of an invoice, work order reports, parish names and addresses, and a check list of clergy who have or have not completed their portrait.

Nurses' Alumni Association of the Winnipeg General Hospital/Health Sciences Centre fonds

The fonds contains all records pertaining to both the Winnipeg General and Health Sciences Centre Schools of Nursing including lists of enrolees, student time books, notes, and handbooks, teaching materials, examination results from the first quarter of the twentieth century, some diplomas and one complete run of years books.

The fonds also contains Alumni related material including the Alumnae Journal, records and history of the Alumni Association, biographical information on select graduates, reference files on nursing and the history of nursing, and information on the Manitoba Association of Registered Nurses (MARN).

The photograph collection contains images of student and nursing staff both at graduation and in and around the hospital campus. The slide collection contains teaching materials.

The special collection consists of textbooks, theses, an incomplete second run of the Alumni Journal and Yearbook, an incomplete run of the Canadian Nurse Journal and a small number of volumes related to the history of nursing. In addition, a collection of artwork and artifacts also exist including pins, uniforms, china and silverware
