With the exception of a large group portrait taken outdoors at Mt. Stephen House, Field, B.C., ca.1906, and the interior of an unidentified office, ca.1905, the photographs in this collection are all studio portraits of groups, couples and individuals and are likely relatives and family friends. Included are 1 carte de visite, 1 cabinet card and 13 others of various sizes. Many of the subjects are identified in notes on the back of the photographs. For most, however, their relationship with Ella Lockhart is not clear. Identified subjects include: Ella's mother, Mrs. J. Beckett; Ella's sister, Eva; an infant identified as Bertram Beckett, possibly a nephew; Robert Lockhart with a group of young men who are possibly classmates, ca.1903; and Robert Lockhart, ca.1906.
