Records described as part of this series consist of the records of the Church in Society Committee including minutes and reports, and correspondence dating from 1976 to 1983 as well as items pertaining to briefs researched and presented by the committee to provincial and municipal governments between 1978 and 1983.

The types of records found here include correspondence and materials retained for information pertaining to United Church personnel in the Conference. These files can be described as 'General Files' in that they do not usually deal with matters directly related to specific personnel but rather pertain to work with United Church personnel in general.

Items described here include minutes of the Administrative Support Committee, dating from June 1974 to March 1983; Treasurer's files, 1968-1978; funding requests, 1966-1977; general committee correspondence dating from January 1975 to December 1981; correspondence and other records pertaining to the Administrative Support Committee budget and other Conference funds dating from 1973 to 1983. Also found here are the General Ledger with entries dating from 1947 to 1979; Conference financial statements dating from 1963 to 1981; and audit reports for various Conference initiatives dating from 1975 to 1980.

Items found here include minutes of meetings of the Conference Continuing Education Committee dating from 1972 to 1983.

Items found here include a copy of the project proposal for the creation of the Institute, correspondence dating from 1975 pertaining to funding for the Institute, correspondence dating from 1979 pertaining to the relationship between the Interfaith Pastoral Institute and the Manitoba Interfaith Council, and annual reports of the Institute for 1977/1978, 1978/1979, and 1979/1980.

Records in this series cover the period from 1971 to 1980. Items pertaining to the Settlement Committee include minutes and reports of the committee, applications, resumes and requests for transfer from Order of Ministry personnel and correspondence from charges seeking a placement. In addition there are appraisals and assessments of candidates. Although the Settlement Committee has been continually in existence for the life of the Conference, records for this committee for the years prior to 1971 have not yet been located. Also found here are correspondence and other items dating from 1971 and pertaining to the Settlement Committee Sub-Committee on Multiple Ministries.

Items also include one reel to reel audio recording titled "Winnipeg Welcome New Ministers" and dated 3 December 1971.

Items found here include correspondence of Conference Administrative Support Staff (Rev. R. Smith) pertaining the Christmas Cheer Board of Greater Winnipeg dating from 1973 to 1978 including several items pertaining to the use of the United Church's 'Live Love' slogan by the Christmas Cheer Board of Greater Winnipeg.

The items described as part of this series cover the period from November 1975 to December 1978. Items described here include minutes of meetings of the Conference Committee on Education, Students and Church Vocations as well as some items of committee correspondence and meeting notices. Correspondence dating from 1976 deals with plans for the implementation of a new Conference internship program. Other items deal with planning for the annual committee retreat. Although the Committee on Education and Students has been continually in existence for the life of the Conference, records for this committee for the years prior to 1975 have not been accessioned by this archives.

The types of records found here include correspondence and materials retained for information pertaining to United Church personnel in the Conference. Items of special note found here include the file '[Urban] Indian Ministry' containing material on the Winnipeg Presbytery Commission on the Disbanding of St. Giles Congregation, the Winnipeg Presbytery Workers Among the Indians Support Committee, the Urban Church Council Report "Native Canadians and the United Church", the "Report of the Tri-Presbytery Planning Committee on Ministry in Indian Communities", and a personnel file on the Roseau River vacancy dating from 1974 to 1976. Also found here is the file '[General Council] Task Force on Ministry', including a copy of the task force report and Conference discussion of the report.
