The collection consists of two photographs commemorating Canada's centennial in 1967. The first photo shows Brandon Mayor Stephen Magnacca and his wife Grace R. Magnacca (nee Jones) holding a proclamation by Dutch-born citizens of southwestern Manitoba. The second photo shows six women standing at the foot of Brandon City Hall alongside two children, one holding a bouquet of tulips. Mayor Stephen Magnacca stands on the steps of City Hall holding the proclamation.
The collection contains a short memoir written by Mrs. Eliza Durston and two photographs -- one of a Brandon baseball team and the other of Brandon’s first water merchant.
This collection is comprised of photographs and written documents pertaining mainly to the history of the Basswood and the Brandon Hills areas of Manitoba. The written documents include a history of schools in the Basswood area and a biography of World War 1 veteran, Zepherin Sioux. The collection includes images of the Basswood, Brandon Hills, and Rapid City communities, as well as a print of a painting by Clarence Tillenius.
