The surviving records of Rev. John A. Doyle include: an Agreement pertaining to the care of cemetery lots in Elora, Manitoba, dating from 1922; Notes pertaining to sermons, 1939-1950 (also many dates unknown); Various prayers, dates unknown; Letters and correspondence, pertaining to the church, natives, Brandon Indian Residential School, 'Thought for the day', and personal matters, dating from 1935 to 1951; a Typescript of the 'Thought for the day' collection, including one-year's worth of quotations, date unknown; a Report of the Board of Home Missions regarding Non-Anglo Saxon work in Edmonton, Alberta, dating from 1932; Poetry, produced by a class of the Brandon Indian Residential School (some authors identified), dating from 1936; 'The New Testament' Bible, dating from 1923; 'The New Testament in the Original Greek' Bible, dating from 1896; 'The Scripture Atlas to Illustrate the Old and New Testaments', dating from 1878; a United Church publication entitled 'Forms of Service for the Offices of the Church', dating from 1926; a 'Marriage Certificate and Ceremony' booklet, dating from 1940; a Radio talk presented by a Cree Indian of Manitoba, date unknown; and a Tribute album compiled in honour of a Mrs. E.L. Curts, c. 1855.

This series includes prayers that Doyle either collected or created for use as a minister.

PP15, D contains 40 pieces of handwritten or typed correspondence sent to or by Doyle. Thirty-one of these letters (1935 – 1936) Doyle wrote as Principal of Brandon Indian Residential School (some with outlines, notes or other correspondence written on the back of them) and pertain to students and the working of the school. Some of the correspondence has supporting documentation attached. A three-page “Further Thoughts on N. T. Criticism” is also included in the folder.
PP16, B contains 45 pieces of correspondence or pages containing inspirational quotations/meditations sent to Doyle. The correspondence pertains to Doyle’s work – and retirement – as Principal of the Brandon Indian Residential School, a preaching appointment filled by Doyle, Doyle’s “Thought for the Day” (brief meditations or quotations) and personal correspondence. The records in this folder were gathered by Doyle.

This series includes a 24 page typescript of J. A. Doyle’s “Thought for the Day,” a compilation of quotations Doyle gathered from various individuals and sources. One “thought” for each day of the year is included.

This series includes51 pages of poems (including 21 pages that appear to have been gathered together due to topical unity) written by students at Brandon Indian Residential School. One handwritten document explaining J. A. Doyle’s role in judging a poetry contest and one piece of correspondence concerning the winner of a poetry contest are also included.

The surviving records of Rev. Francis M. Finn include: Sermons and sermon notes, dates unknown; and a Certificate, presented to Rev. Finn by the Loyal Orange Association, dating from July 1890. One file containing additional biographical and family history material is also included in the fonds.
