The collection documents two sections of the career of Joann MacMorran, firstly there are records related to her time in training at the Winnipeg General Hospital School of Nursing and secondly the records reflect her time with the CIDA Project in Guyana.
The collection reflects the roles of Joan Antoinette Kupchak as a nursing student, staff nurse and educator while documenting her graduations, achievements, teaching activities, and affiliation with the Manitoba Association of Registered Nurses. The collection is arranged into four series and includes diplomas, certificates, correspondence, pieces of uniform, photographs, pins and various objects.
The fond contains records pertaining to the administrative and charitable activities of The Peter Pan Club. The administrative records include minutes, lists of members and volunteers, annual reports, financial reports, guidelines, general information about the Club and photographs of members. Donations, requested and received, encompassed a large part of the organization. Such records relating to donations include documentation of donations made to and from The Peter Pan Club, requests for funding, wish lists, grants and photographs of donated items and cheque ceremonies. The Club also initiated events and programs to aid with fundraising for the Children’s Hospital and the Children’s Burn Ward and their patients and families. These consist of textual and photographic records of hospital tours and orientations, the Burn Discharge Book Project, Chi-Chi’s Charity Fiesta and the Wishing Wells / collection boxes. Other records consist of miscellaneous ephemera including newspaper clippings, awards and certificates and a cookbook. Artefacts include embroidered badges, plaques, signs, pins and posters.
