George Lindsay fonds

The George Lindsay fonds consists of photocopies of two poems. The first poem is called “Our Community Building” which briefly names and describes the people who worked in each office of The Pas Community Building and Court House. The second poem called “Whisky Joe” is about a man that made “home brew” or moonshine and was caught by the police (RCMP). The rhyming scheme of both poems is AABB for each verse.

Gertrude Johnson fonds

The fonds consists of three minute and record books acting as guest books/diaries, with most entries written by Gertrude Johnson. Guest book entries refer to people visiting a cabin or camp at Clearwater Lake, as well as weather observations at the lake. The guest books cover the years from 1928-1967. No biographical information on Gertrude Johnson is known.

The Guymer family fonds consists of Violet Guymer’s funeral register used in her funeral home in The Pas, Wilf Guymer’s embalmer’s licence and correspondence with Sam Waller and the Little Northern Museum, and a series of letters regarding the fabrication of a toothbrush out of beaver whiskers.

The Harry Trager fonds consists of letters and correspondence from various people and departments as well as reports. More notable items include a speech addressed to Queen Elizabeth II, Princess Anne and Prince Phillip, as well as election speeches and candidate statements in rough and good drafts.

Hugo Mortsell fonds

The Hugo Mortsell fonds consists of letters, notes, diagrams, Standard Inventions Record Chart, and miscellaneous notes and ephemera re: an attempt to patent a ski binding invention with the help of Egerton Ryerson Case, patent attorney. Also included is a manuscript on reindeer management and a map of central Europe (PP85.20.1).

J. A. Campbell collection

The J. A. Campbell collection consists of correspondence, speeches, a photo-catalogue, reports, four scrapbooks and ephemera. The correspondence includes personal (1918 – 1919), The Pas Board of Trade (1917 – 1944), various Rotary Clubs (Estevan, Banff, Kenora, Prince Albert, etc. 1934 – 1940), the 1921 election, Hudson Bay Railway (1920 – 1928), correspondence with several newspapers including the Winnipeg Tribune (1926 – 1928), etc. Speeches written and delivered by J. A. Campbell in various venues (1920s – 1940s) range in topic from politics to resources in the North and the importance and significance of the Hudson Bay Railway. Reports compiled since 1886 – 1958 on The Hudson Bay Railway Route (1886 – 1924), mining of natural resources in Northern Manitoba (1917 – 1924) and reports on The Pas (1958).The photo-catalogue contains descriptions/titles for photographs from 1916 – 1923, 25 pages. The scrapbooks contain newspaper clippings about the Hudson Bay Railway from 1923 – 1924.
