Children's Hospital of Winnipeg School of Nursing sous-fonds

Sous-fonds consists of records created by the School of Nursing to recruit and orient students as well as provide graduation information. It also contains both formal and informal records created by the students during their time at the School as well as reminiscences collected afterwards. The sous-fonds also contains the yearbooks which were compiled by the students as well as some material related to the proposal to close the school in the 1940s.

Located on SE 5-16-16. Minutes dated in Dec. 1906 passed a motion to accept a tender to build a school. The school was built in 1907 and closed when the Beautiful Plains SD was formed in 1968.

Community Oral Histories collection

The Community Oral Histories collection is an artificially created collection of oral histories of The Pas and area community members, which were not conducted by or associated with the Sam Waller Museum. The collection consists of nineteen audio tapes of interviews with members of the community and summary transcripts of the interviews, as well as other audio records. Oral history interviews include Jack Walker, May Bridle, Hector Pocock, Phil Reader, Alec Russell, Ford McMillan, Syd Allen, Burt Hutton, Blake McKay, Bella Cochrane, Florence Gudgeon, Geoff Smith, Phyllis Chartrand, Tom Lamb, and Ed Johanson. Other audio recordings include The 3 Dee’s and the Trappers’ Festival 1965.

Department of Dietetics sous-fonds

The sous- fonds contains the records of the Dietetic department relating primarily to the history of the department and the creation and administration of the internship program. Records are primarily from 1967-2004, records arranged by year and subject. The records of the fonds were appraised and arranged by Shirley Layne as Director of the Dietetic Internship program at the closure of the program in 2004, before donation to the archives.
Sous-Fonds includes DVDs on the history of the department, HR materials,departmental newsletters, awards, staff scheduling books and policy manuals documenting the operation of the department and include information and photographs of anniversaries, graduations and hospital events.

Dr. William & Helen Sinclair fonds

Consists of the personal financial records of Dr. William and Helen Sinclair as well as business records pertaining to the Gateway Drugs Company, which includes receipts, expenses and revenue statements, personal investments, cheques, tax notices and receipts, bank/cheque books, correspondence, invoices, subscriptions, business account statements, bank account statements, certificates, licenses, hospital registration receipts, and a ration book. Also includes a document on medicine men in Manitoba written by Dr. Ross Mitchell, and ephemera such as recipe books, T. Eaton Company order papers, and an income tax instruction booklet.
