Fonds also includes copies of the program, and related administrative records for the conference. Principal themes of conference sessions included Aboriginal history, twentieth century African-American history, gender history, imperialism, the history of Canadian settlement, and the history of labor in Canada.

Cornelius Krause fonds

This collection consists of copies of the photos collected by Cornelius Krause from a Mexican land agent that traveled with Krause and other Mennonite delegates from Manitoba and Saskatchewan who were investigating the possibility of the migration of a group of Mennonites from Canada to Mexico and photos taken by Cornelius Krause himself while investigating Mexico as a possible country to which a group of Manitoba and Saskatchewan Mennonites could move. The photos which Krause took himself show people and places visited on the trip in Mexico (Collection 592). The photos by the land agent (Collection 590) taken before the arrival of the Mennonite delegation and during their visit to Mexico. The photos were taken to encourage the Mennonites to move to Mexico. They show road and railway construction, wide open wild areas, places where there was water, villages, homes, and fields successfully developed by the Old Colony and Sommerfeld Mennonites who had moved to Mexico in 1922.

Joan de Peña fonds

The fonds consists of Dr. Joan Finkle de Peña’s manuscripts, articles and lecture notes pertaining to her academic teaching career at St. Louis University, and the University of Manitoba. The fonds also consists of material pertaining to her research in Puerto Rico when she was a graduate student, as well as a her academic research work with her studies of the Inuit of the North, during her tenure as a faculty member with the Department of Anthropology, University of Manitoba. In addition there are textual records pertaining to her involvement with various national and international professional associations, including the Sigma Xi Scientific Society. The collection also contains a total of 4624 photographs, 90 negatives, and 1,125 photo slides.

Fonds also includes CFUW Brandon minutes, miscellaneous projects, annual reports and member lists, as well as a number of documents relating to the provincial, national and international activities of the CFUW.

Ken Hanly Collection

Fonds includes tapes of a conversation with W. A. (Bill) Pritchard in which he provides an oral history of the Socialist Party of Canada (SPC) and describes his activities as a militant within the party from 1911 to 1927. Pritchard devotes a good deal of time to describing his many experiences as editor of the Western Clarion, the party newspaper, running in various elections, and his tours of B.C. and Alberta on behalf of the party. Pritchard also discusses the ideology of the Socialist Party of Canada and the ideological splits within it that occurred in the 1920s. Fonds also includes a recording of a conversation with Brandon Communist Frank Wiszniowski dealing with Wisznoiwski's evolvement in various organizations following his arrival in Brandon in 1926. Fonds also includes a taped conversation with former Brandon Mayor Stephen Magnacca concerned with various features of political life in Brandon.

Truth and Reconciliation Web Collection

The Truth and Reconciliation Web Collection consists of 285 archived websites pertaining to Manitoba’s ongoing involvement in the reconciliation process as defined by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. The collection content pertains to a diverse range of topics, including Survivors’ stories, apologies, responses, cultural events, and more. The media captured in the collection includes web pages, blogs, news coverage, and PDF files. The collection will continue to grow as Manitoba witnesses new forms of reconciliation. The collection is curated using the University of Winnipeg’s subscription to the Internet Archive service Archive-It. Captures of archived websites are created using the Internet Archive’s Heritrix and Wayback Machine tools. All captures of the archived web sites are hosted on Internet Archive servers.
