The series consists of the daily journals and financial records of Nicholas John King from 1896 to 1911. The records reflect his daily life and the operation of his farm in the Rural Municipality of Daly near Brandon, Manitoba.

The series includes 11 ice hockey programs which almost exclusively chronicle the home games of the Brandon Wheat Kings from 1946-1951 and one program related to the Brandon Elks hockey team from 1947.
