Dr. William & Helen Sinclair fonds

Consists of the personal financial records of Dr. William and Helen Sinclair as well as business records pertaining to the Gateway Drugs Company, which includes receipts, expenses and revenue statements, personal investments, cheques, tax notices and receipts, bank/cheque books, correspondence, invoices, subscriptions, business account statements, bank account statements, certificates, licenses, hospital registration receipts, and a ration book. Also includes a document on medicine men in Manitoba written by Dr. Ross Mitchell, and ephemera such as recipe books, T. Eaton Company order papers, and an income tax instruction booklet.

Gertrude Johnson fonds

The fonds consists of three minute and record books acting as guest books/diaries, with most entries written by Gertrude Johnson. Guest book entries refer to people visiting a cabin or camp at Clearwater Lake, as well as weather observations at the lake. The guest books cover the years from 1928-1967. No biographical information on Gertrude Johnson is known.

La Vérendrye: Père de l’Ouest Canadien collection

The collection consists of an article from the Imperial Oil collection about the La Vérendrye brothers near the western mountains New Year’s Day 1743, sketch of La Vérendrye’s arrival in Western Canada, photocopy of sketch of table to display sculpture and description, photocopy of letter in French from M. Deschênes to M. Brault regarding the commission to produce the basswood sculpture of La Vérendrye’s arrival, and photocopy of the description “Pere de l’Ouest Canadien”.

Pat Langlois collection

The collection consists of a scrapbook with 18 pages of newspaper clippings covering the 1953 Trappers’ Festival, with many about Pat Abram, winner of the Fur Queen title and “Miss The Pas”. Two pages towards the back contain sketches of a building with “ABRAM” across the top. Pat Abram, married name Langlois, was the Fur Queen for the 1953 Trappers’ Festival, when she was 22 years old.

The collection consists of photocopies of newspaper clippings, one mounted on cardboard titled “Hero of ‘Flying Family’ Gets Home for Reunion”, a newspaper clipping from 1999 of Ernest O. St. Godard’s obituary, “Record Setters” about St. Godard’s victories as a dog-sled racer, a copy of ‘Margaret Barbour Anniversary Newsletter’ (17 May 1964), a two-page poem called “The Sense/Cents of a Dollar”, a Royal Canadian Legion programme for the dedication of the War Memorial in The Pas (25 May 1996), and the Opaquia Times (29 May 1996).

Robert Nero fonds

The fonds consists of letters typed and hand written to Dr. Nero re: owl and other bird species Mr. Waller has seen in Northern Manitoba and Ontario, and a poem written by Dr. Nero, “Deserted Campfires”.

Bert Hutton fonds

The fonds consists of a University chemistry notebook (ca. 1930), a letter to Bert Hutton’s father (1909) and a letter from Sports Illustrated to Bert Hutton about an article he submitted to them on Ducks Unlimited (1957), an article written for The Beaver, and a seven page autobiography on the Hutton family (from after 1974).
