Stefan Balinski fonds

The fonds consists of some personal records of Stefan Baliński, including a copy of his birth certificate and baptismal record; records relating to his military service and participation in the Warsaw Uprising; records relating to his receipt of various military medals and other awards and recognitions; some records relating to his work with Radio Polonia on CKJS 810 in Winnipeg; newspaper clippings and various ephemera collected by Stefan Baliński; some correspondence; and a few event programs for events hosted by the Winnipeg branch of the Polish Canadian Congress (Kongres Polonii Kanadyjskiej) from the 1970s. Finally, there is a number of photographs of Stefan Baliński dating back to his time in the Second World War; however, these are only rough copies of the originals, as the originals themselves were not included in the donation.

Papal Visit 1984 collection

The collection consists of materials related to the day of the Pope's visit to Manitoba ,such as promotional material, organizational material for event organizers, organizer badges, shuttle stubs, and information booklets.
The collection also contains church bulletins from Holy Ghost Parish and St. Andrew Bobola Parish in Winnipeg; newspaper clippings; and external publications relating to Pope John Paul II. There is also a handmade poster that had been created for and used during the Papal visit to Manitoba.

Adam Jozef Zurad fonds

The fonds consists of one scrapbook photo album, containing 218 photographs of Zurad and acquaintances and colleagues dating from the years [1939] to [ca. 1970].
The fonds also comprises a sketchbook/scrapbook, featuring drawn and painted depictions of scenes from various locations travelled by Zurad during the Second World War. The artwork was likely created by a wartime colleague or acquaintance (Miroslaw (Mirek) Radkowski) and gifted to Adam Zurad ca. 1946.

Celina Wiewiora fonds

The collection consists of two photographs in digital form (scanned from the original). The first photograph depicts Stanislaw Iwanowski, a friend of Celina Wiewiora, ca. 1944. The second photograph depicts Celina as a young girl (aged 6 in 1952) along with her father and others at the front gates of the Auschwitz Concentration Camp.

Caroline Haydey fonds

The records contain photographs of a number of families and individuals centred around the Cook's Creek and Lockport areas of Manitoba. There are a number of early (ca. 1920s) photographs of the Galka, Kula, and Haier families, as well as a number of later (ca. 1930s-1950s) photographs of the family of Stan and Sophie Galka. There are also a number of photographs of Mary and Joe Galka of Cook's Creek, Manitoba, and their family and acquaintances.

Polish Women's War Relief Committee fonds

The fonds consists of correspondence (including letters of appeal from Poles seeking material aid and correspondence related to the organization and shipment of outgoing goods), receipts showcasing the types of items purchased for shipment abroad, and organizational records such as notes and ledgers tracking the Committee’s activities. The fonds also includes receipts and some financial records of the Polish Women’s Federation a.k.a. Związek Polek in Winnipeg from 1934 to 1939, a photograph, and a small number of personal records of the Rybak Family.

Wladyslaw (Walter) Wazny fonds - Accrual

Jozef (Joe) Zwierzchowski fonds

The fonds consists of records pertaining to Jozef Zwierzchowski’s professional career as a barber; some records relating to his membership in the Order of Foresters; personal records including passports, health records, and membership cards; a WW-II-era ration booklet; correspondence from family and friends; some financial records, and 16 photographs. The fonds also contains ephemera collected by Jozef Zwierzchowski, including prayerbooks, obituary and memorial cards, and a collection of banknotes, including Japanese government-issued Philippine centavos and pesos, a German Umlauf Gesetzt 10 Zehn Mark (WWII, Allied Occupation, 1944), a Japanese Sen banknote (ca. 1940) and a Reichsbanknotes (1910).

Edward Hubicz fonds

The fonds consists of notes, collected materials, and correspondence relating to Hubicz’s research on Poles in Manitoba; research and correspondence relating to Poland’s millenium (1966) as well as early minutes of the Polish Canadian Millenium Fund (originally referred to as the “Millenium Committee”/”Komitet Millenium”); correspondence and records relating to Hubicz’s trip to Poland in 1966; some collected philotelic material; as well as 66 photographs of Hubicz, acquaintances, various churches and parishes, and the visit of Pope John Paul II to Manitoba in 1984.

Mary Adamowska Panaro fonds

The fonds consists of 0.24 m of textual records and 0.12 m of photographic records (556 photos).
The fonds consists of personal records such as correspondence; membership cards; pamphlets or materials from events attended or presented at; collected writings and ephemera; and prayer books. The collection also includes records relating to Mary Adamowska Panaro's activities as part of Aronovitch and Leipsic; the Consulate of Poland in Winnipeg; the Catholic Women's League of Canada; Polish-Canadian Women's Federation national branch; Polish-Canadian Women's Federation Branch Ogniwo #7; Canadian Polish Congress national division; Canadian Polish Congress Manitoba Division; Polish Combatants' Association #13; the Citizenship Council of Manitoba; and the International Centre.
The fonds also contains correspondence and information regarding Mary Adamowska Panaro's receipt of the Order of Canada; papers concerning the organization of a parties and a dinner in her honour; newspaper clippings collected by Adamowska Panaro; papers concerning her nominations and awards; as well as records collected following her death, such as obituaries and memorials.
Finally, the fonds contains 556 photographs of Mary Adamowska Panaro, her family, and her associates from [ca. 1908] to 1989.
