The fonds consists of records collected and created by the Assiniboine Historical Society over the course of its existence. The records include photographs and other historical documents from the Brandon area; meeting minutes; financial records; correspondence records; heritage publications; film committee and street name committee documents; a constitution; documents relating to the Manitoba Historical Society; walking tour documents; and some miscellaneous files. Photos feature the 62nd Battalion from Victoria, British Columbia on parade in Brandon, Manitoba on March 18, 1916; water tanks, soldiers and tents in Camp Sewell (Camp Hughes), Manitoba (two photos); the tallest and shortest members of the 1st Canadian Mounted Rifles in Brandon, Manitoba; and an unidentified trench with a boardwalk, sacks, and soldiers.

This photograph collection contains 18 framed graduation images of Charles Arthur Baragar and friends who attended Wesley College, dated 1909-1911.

The collection consists of a photograph and negative of a barn-raising bee in Thornhill, Manitoba and a photograph and negative of the interior of a livery barn in Thornhill, Manitoba, possibly belonging to a farmer named Brentwood or Broadbent.

The collection consists of the 1914 list of electors from Lansdowne Polling Division No. 4, postcards of Brandon Asylum for the Insane, West End Park, and Park School, and three postcards of street scenes from an unknown location.

The collection contains photographic material relating to the family of Laura and Robert Baird Murray and to the farming community of Lyleton, Manitoba. Material includes photographs of R.B. Murray's reaper, the Copley Anglican Church, the J.F. Clark Family, a Cockshutt combine, and a photographic postcard sent to Mrs. Murray from an unidentified family.
