Town and Road Maps

Sub-series consists of various plans such as for subdivisions, townships, public roads, river lots, Willingdon Park, the Pasquia Land Settlement Project, the Big Eddy Settlement, the Umfreville Lots, and The Pas Cemetery.

Tax Rolls

Sub-series consists of collectors’ rolls from 1912 – 1959 that identify property values, tax rates, and other relevant information for collecting taxes. Also includes collectors’ rolls for The Pas School District from 1932 – 1937, business tax rolls from 1923, 1931 and 1933, tax rolls from 1967 – 1971 and municipal tax rolls from 1982 – 1988.

Audit Reports

Sub-series consists of audit reports, financial statements and voters’ lists, financial reports, trial balance reports that list general ledger account balances, and direct relief reports, which identify monetary payments made to impoverished individuals by the Town of The Pas from 1935 – 1939. The direct relief reports include grant amounts received from the provincial government of Manitoba, names of individuals and other pertinent information, and the reasons for their eligibility for receiving relief.


Sub-series consists of By-Laws of the Town of The Pas from 1912 – 1981.

Acts of the Legislature

Sub-series consists of Acts of Legislature for the Town of The Pas from 1912 – 1969. Includes the Act to Incorporate the Town from 1912 (a type-written copy from a later date), Acts to legalize By-Laws No. 14 and 35 from 1913, an Act to amend The Municipal Boundaries Act from 1913, Acts to amend the Act to incorporate the Town from 1913, Acts respecting the Town from 1913, 1914, and 1927, an Act authorizing the Town to build sewers and waterworks systems from 1913, an Act legalizing tax sales by the Town from 1918, and an Act to enlarge the boundaries of the Town from 1969.

The Pas 75th Jubilee

Sub-series consists of correspondence regarding the Town’s 75th Jubilee, a list of executives, final reports that include registration lists, programs, committee members, a statement of income and expenses, documents regarding the incorporation of The Pas 75th Jubilee Inc., meeting minutes, The Pas 75th Jubilee Inc. programs and stationery, lists of Town mayors, councilors, and officials, and promotional materials for The Pas related to commerce and tourism.

General Ledgers

Sub-series consists of general financial ledgers for the Town of The Pas from December 1912 to December 1988, including general ledgers on local improvements, sinking funds, depreciation, revenue, capital, sidewalk frontage assessment, waterworks, record for applications for telephones, cash receipts, cash disbursements, payroll, consumer register (power, light), Manitoba Hospital Commission, transfers, sundry, computer equipment cards, reserve accounts, Kelsey Recreation Commission, fire equipment, as well as general revenue, assets and liabilities.

Minutes of Council

Sub-series consists of minutes of Council meetings for the Town of The Pas from 1912 – 1999.


Sub-series consists of correspondence from 1912 – [before 1992]. The correspondence covers a broad range of topics, which include:
Fire and Police Reports and Committee Minutes, Government, Hospitals, School Board/District, Unemployment, Board of Trade, Public Works, Utilities, Local Improvements, Taxes, Solicitors, Workmen’s Compensation Board, Parks and Cemetery Committee, Rink and Park Committee, Voters’ List, Auditor, By-Laws, Elections, Finances, Fire Calls, Bank (RBC), Land Titles Office, Budget, Mayor and Council, Mayors’ Papers, Treasurer, Social Welfare Commission, Department of Indian Affairs, Statistics, Canadian National Railway, Jury List, Health Inspector, Insurance, Courts of Revision, Licenses, Lakeside Cemetery, etc.

Assessment Rolls

Sub-series consists of assessment rolls (which report the assessed value of every property or tract of land in the Town’s taxing jurisdiction), as well as tax rolls that list all properties that are subject to taxation for the Town of The Pas, School Districts and Businesses from 1912 – 1987, sewage and water sheets from 1956 – 1957, changes in ownership in 1982 and real property assessment from 1983 – 1985.
