This sub-series consists of several certificates earned by Sam Waller, including a confirmation certificate, a certificate from Khaki University and two Lay Reader certificates. This sub series also contains a letter from King George, which was received by Mr. Waller upon his discharge from the Army in 1919.

This sub-series consists of sheet music, generally of a religious nature, mostly printed although there are more than a few cut-out from newspapers and some hand written/transcribed.

This sub-series contains correspondence accumulated by Sam Waller from 1919 – 1977, organised by subject, in alphabetical order. Correspondence in this sub-series covers deformed antlers, birds, Cree hymn book, Indian Schools, insurance, literary works, stamps, Trinity College and correspondence from students and teachers alike thanking Sam for allowing them to visit his collection.

General Notes

This sub-series contains various notes on peculiarities in the English language, Rev. Abraham Cowley, First Nations education and legends, Khaki University, Jackhead, Lake St. Martin, Moose Head, recipes, personal history and chronology of Sam Waller, The Pas, quotations and humour to name a few. Some of these files contain associated material, including newspaper clippings, magazine articles, letter written by other people, etc.

This sub-series contains an assortment of ephemera, including amusements tax, business cards, education, election, humorous cartoons clipped from magazines and newspapers, in memorium cards, Keewatin Community College, liturgical reform, obituaries, ordination, Rana club, Trappers’ Festival, Trinity College, Funeral cards, entertainment (including theatre programmes, Canadian Corps Reunion and music festivals), United Kingdom, museum related ephemera (envelopes and letter heads for the Little Northern Museum), and copper tooling patterns, among others.

Notes and Other Religious Items

This sub-series consists of notes on correspondents, correspondent’s addresses, and notes on Cedar Lake, biographies, prayers and miscellaneous religious subjects.

This sub-series contains correspondence accumulated by Sam Waller from 1923 – 1978, organised by date, in chronological order. The correspondents in this sub-series include an RCMP officer writing a letter in acknowledgement of Sam's leaving Moose Factory, the Bishop’s Court of Winnipeg, Diocese of Rupert’s Land, the Department of Mines and Natural Resources Game and Fisheries Branch, Department of Health, Department of the Interior, the Ottawa National Museum, Lake St. Martin Indian Reserve and Huron College. Associated material in these files includes various newspaper clippings, and a wedding invitation.


This sub-series contains various travel brochures, passenger lists for cruises, brochures for the Canadian Pacific Railway, British Railways, and even a programme for the London Palladium.
