Department History

Series consists of a chronological history of the department and a 2-disc DVD set documenting the history and development of the department through photos. The series documents the name changes of the department (Department of Dietetics, Nutrition & Food Services, Retail Food Services), as well as technological changes, important purchases, changes in methods and procedures, creation of committees, renovations, programs, internships, awards, and the opening and closing of cafés in the hospital.

Nursing Week

The series documents Nursing week, a national event coinciding with the birthday of Florence Nightingale, celebrates the efforts and achievements of nurses. The records includes posters, photographs and CDs which reflect the receptions, award ceremonies, luncheons and poster displays held during Nursing Week.

The series documents courses offered through clinical education under Nursing Specialty Courses. Nursing Specialty Courses include: ADERL3a (nursing specialty: adult emergency), POSTL2a (nursing specialty: postpartum), NEURL2a (nursing specialty: neurology & neurosurgery), CHRNL2a (nursing specialty: pediatric resuscitation nursing skills), RESPL2a (nursing specialty: respiratory medicine & thoracic surgery), LACTL2a (nursing specialty: lactation), LABDL2a (nursing specialty: labour and delivery) as well as Trauma Sessions and ECG rhythm analysis program. Records include manuals, schedules, course outlines and presentation slides.

Adult Intensive Care Nursing Program

Series documents the Adult Intensive Care Nursing Program’s role in providing education to prospective Intensive Care Unit nurses. The series is arranged into six sub-series: administrative, reports, advertising, AICNP’s advanced clinical practicum, collaborative AICNP with the University of Manitoba and St. Boniface, and graduation.
