Biographical history

Helen (Barron) Duthie (1927-1999) collected material from her community. She was born and died in the Fairview district. She married George Clark Duthie, a Canadian Pacific Railway agent, in 1947 and they had Georgina, Donald, and Hugh. Her parents were Nellie and Alex Barron. Prior to settling in Fairview, Duthie lived many places in Manitoba and Saskatchewan. She had been educated at Fairview and Carberry schools. Duthie worked at Carnation food processing plant near Carberry for thirty years, and was involved in local horticulture societies.

Custodial history

Records have been presented to the Carberry Plains Archives in 1995 by Helen Duthie of Fairview, Manitoba.

Scope and content

Fonds consists of a recipe book hand-written into a cash book over a number of years. black and white photographs show Georgina Duthie and Harry Green [1949], and a toddler in a garden.
