This aircraft carrier was originally launched in Belfast, 1915 as a British ship under the name of H.M.S Powerful. The ship was bought by Canada in 1952 and after undergoing extensive repairs, entered into service with the Royal Canadian Navy in 1957 under the name H.M.C.S Bonaventure.
