Scope and content

1786.00: Watercolour paint applied with sponge and stencil on to heavy watercolour paper. Subject is a spiritual teepee. Signed: Noganash/85 and Cree syllabics. Paper is watermarked: C.M.Fabriano. 1824.00: Bird in flight, sun in background, bull rushes in the water, at the bottom. Bird has a fish in its stomach. Unframed. 1825.00: Owl seated on the ground with 2 trees, one on either side. Inside of the owl is a camp scene, the outline of 3 teepees, 3 trees and the sun can be seen. Unframed. 1826.00: Bird rising out of the water. In the background is the moon. Below the bird are two bulrushes, one on either side and ripples in the water. Penciled on the back: Canadian Goose. 1827.00: Moose elevated slightly above ground level. One tree to side of painting. Inset of animal contains 8 parts, one of which shows a tipi. 1828.00: Mother turtle with 3 young painted on heavy watercolor paper. Signed with Cree syllabics and 80.
