History

Guthrie United Church has existed in the northwestern Ontario community of Devlin, located east of Emo, since 1925. Its predecessors were a Methodist congregation and Guthrie Presbyterian Church, who officially joined The United Church of Canada in 1925. Rev. R.A. Hanley presdied over a field that included Devlin, Emo, Carpenter and Barnhart. It is part of the Emo-Devlin Pastoral charge in the Cambrian Presbytery.
