Biographical history

Gael Lambiotte was born in Brussels, Belgium in 1974, where he began his dance training. He later attended the School of the Royal Ballet of Flanders. Before joining the Royal Winnipeg Ballet as a Principal Dancer in 2007, he danced with the Ballet du Grand Theatre de Bordeaux, the Deutsche Oper Am Rhein, Boston Ballet, the Dutch National Ballet and Les Grands Ballets Canadiens. In 1998, he received the Alexandra Radius Award for best dancer of the year. He was also a guest artist with the Royal Ballet of London in 2002. He left the Royal Winnipeg Ballet in 2009 and planned to open a dance studio in Majorque, Spain. He exhibits his paintings and sculptures in France. Gael returned to the RWB in 2019 as a teacher.

Custodial history

The records of Gael Lambiotte came to the Royal Winnipeg Ballet archives as part of a transfer of records from the RWB and were also collected by members of the Alumni Association.
