Biographical history

Frank Alexander Duncan Robb was born in Brandon, Manitoba in 1921 to parents Walter and Kate (nee Leslie) Robb. He was raised in Brandon and attended Alexandra School. For twenty years, Mr. Robb was employed by the School District of Brandon No.129. He also served in the Air Force from 1941 to 1946. In the early 1950s, while working at the school district office, he collaborated with students from Neelin High School and with bird expert, Jack Lane to curate the B.J. Hales Natural History Exhibit. Mr. Robb left Brandon in 1969 and moved to Ontario. He passed away in Minaki, Ontario at the age of 86 in 2007.

Custodial history

The collection was donated to the Daly House Museum by Frank Robb in 1993.

Scope and content

The collection is comprised on photographs of the City of Brandon, Manitoba. Photographs include Brandon schools in 1928, the Brandon City Golf Course and Clubhouse, as well as images relating to Brandon’s 75th Anniversary in 1957. The collection also includes a reprint of a photograph of the SS Marquette riverboat.
