Biographical history

On October 6, 1956 Etta and Roland James' son, Gordon David James, married Lois Ellen Simmons at Westlawn Methodist Church in Detroit, Michigan. The James' other son, Douglas Stewart James, married Mary E. Desparais at St. Mary's church in Detroit on December 11, 1965.

Custodial history

These photographs were donated to the Dugald Costume by Etta James in 1987.

Scope and content

The collection includes: 2 colour photographs of Roland and Etta James with the wedding couple, the bride's parents and guests at their son Douglas' wedding in 1965; and 2 colour photographs featuring Etta and Roland at their son Gordon's wedding in 1956.
