Biographical history

Erskine United Church existed in the Manitoba community of Killarney, located 300 km southwest of Winnipeg, from 1925 to 1941. Its predecessor was Erskine Presbyterian Church built in 1898. Rev. A. Little was the first United minister. Erskine was a separate charge with Lena United Church until July 6, 1941 when Erskine United Church amalgamated with First United Church to become Killarney United Church. The First United Church continued to be used as Killarney United Church. The former Erskine United Church was sold to the Killarney Lodge, No. 28 of the Independent Order of Oddfellows. The proceeds were put towards the upkeep of First United Church.

Custodial history

The records of Erskine United Church came to The United Church of Canada Archives-Conference of Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario as part of a transfer of records from the Killarney Pastoral charge in 1984.
