History

Zion United Church existed in the Manitoba municipality of Elton from 1925 to 1966. Its predecessor was a Local Union Church formed in 1918 between Zion Presbyterian and Bethel Methodist Church. Services continued to alternate between the two buildings for three years after Union. In 1928, part of the Bethel Methodist Church was moved and joined onto the Zion Presbyterian Church building. Fire destroyed the church one year later. A replacement was built and dedicated on December 28, 1930. Zion United Church held its final service on June 28, 1966. Two years later the building was sold as a private residence.
