Detective & Chief of Police Jack Foster
John Russel (Jack) Foster (1853-1941) served on both the Winnipeg and provincial police forces before being appointed Brandon's Chief of Police in 1890. After two years in this role he resigned to establish his own private detective agency. Foster worked as a private detective until 1910. He was then a provincial vehicle inspector from 1911 until his retirement in 1915.
