The house occupied by Daly House Museum at 122-118th St. in Brandon, Manitoba was built in 1882 for Brandon’s first mayor, Thomas Mayne Daly (1852-1911). In 1896, Daly sold the house to his law partner, George Robson Coldwell (1858-1924). The Coldwell family resided there until 1928. From 1930 until 1972, the house served as a children's shelter, called The Maples. In 1976, Brandon Museum Inc., a non-profit organization, took over the building, restored it, and converted it into Daly House Museum, which opened in 1978. Its preservation was largely due to the efforts of Stephen Magnacca, Mayor of Brandon from 1961 to 1969. Named after him, the Magnacca Research Centre on the museum's third floor houses archival records that illustrate the growth and development of Brandon and surrounding area, both before and after the city's incorporation in 1882. The Centre provides reference services to individuals, organizations, and other interested groups. Brandon Museum Inc. continues to operate Daly House Museum.

The St. Andrews Heritage Rectory is a National Historic Site of Canada, located on the Red River at St. Andrews, Manitoba. The building demonstrates typical architecture of early Red River settlements. The original structure at this location was a stone house built in 1854 as a rectory for an Anglican Priest. In the 1980s, the building was dismantled and rebuilt to restore its original style and features by Parks Canada. The photograph appears to have been taken before this restoration.

The Brandon Mental Hospital was located on 1st Street, north of the Assiniboine River. It was originally built as a boys reformatory, but a lack of young delinquents led the building to be turned into a hospital for the mentally ill in 1891. The fire occurred on the night of November 4, 1910. 643 patients were evacuated to the Brandon Winter Fair Buildings (located on the 500 block of 10th Street). Brandon's original City Hall was designed by local architect W. R. Marshall and built between 1891 and1892 on the 800 Block of Princess Avenue. In addition to serving as Brandon's City Hall, there was an opera house on the building's second floor. In 1971, the structure of the building was deemed unsafe and a new City Hall was constructed at 410 9th Street. The original City Hall building was demolished and the area is now Princess Park.

The condition, existence, or location of Association records prior to 1917 remains unknown. This record - the earliest extant record of the Association - dates from June 1917 and continues to 1964. It contains minutes that deal directly with membership, candidate selection, election organization and strategy, fund raising, and the general operation of the association.
The Brandon Liberal-Conservative Association emerged in Brandon, Manitoba in the mid-1880s. Thomas Mayne Daly served as President and was elected to Parliament in 1887, representing the citizens of Selkirk. For a few years in the 1940s, the association's function changed as the Conservative Party of Manitoba entered into a coalition with the Liberal Party. Meetings were held in conjunction with the Manitoba Liberal Association. Two smaller groups--the Ladies' Conservative Association and the Young Conservatives Club--were directly associated with the Conservative Association and regularly sent delegates to meetings of the larger association. In October 1943, following the election of Manitoba Progressive John Bracken as leader of the federal Conservative party, the official name of the party and association changed to the Progressive Conservative Association. The Association existed until 2003 when the Canadian Reform Conservative Alliance merged with the Progressive Conservative Party to form the Conservative Party of Canada. Prominent members included Thomas Mayne Daly, David Beaubier, George Dinsdale, Mayor Stephen Adolph Magnacca, Walter Dinsdale, and W. Leland Clark. Rick Borotsik was the last person to represent Brandon as a Progressive Conservative.
