Biographical history
Changes in the Planning Act of Manitoba caused the foundation of the Cypress Planning District Board in 1981. It was created by the municipalities of Carberry, North Cypress, Glenboro, and South Cypress to both plan land use of the areas, and implement a development strategy. Jurisdiction includes other matters such as subdivision, location of schools, and heritage preservation. Previous names were the Cypress District Advisory Planning Commission (1970-1981) created to protect the Spruce Woods Provincial Park from development, and the [Carberry Planning Scheme Commission] (1961-1970). The Scheme zoned the town of Carberry, Manitoba and the two miles surrounding. Each municipality helps govern and fund the joint Board.
Custodial history
Records have been presented to the Carberry Plains Archives in 1990, 1991, 1992, 1994 by the Carberry Town Office, and in 1995 the Cypress Planning District Board in Carberry.
Scope and content

Some reports include 58 black and white photographs, mostly copies from the Provincial Archives of Manitoba.
