Alma Criddle (1924-2001) wrote a history of her family entitled Criddle-de-diddle-ensis in 1973. She was born to Barbara Coates of Winnipeg and Talbot Criddle (1890-1975), and had siblings David, Paul, and Ernest. She died in Wawanesa, Manitoba. Criddle worked as a nurse in Winnipeg. The family moved from Addlestone, England in 1882 to Aweme, Manitoba to farm. Her paternal grandmother was Mary Ann (Alabaster) Criddle (1804-1880), a British painter. Further biographical information is unknown.
