Crestview United Church has existed in Winnipeg since the early 1960s. Sunday School services commenced in the district in 1963. In 1964 the Church Extension Council of Winnipeg Presbytery purchased land on Hamilton Avenue for the growing congregation. Church services were held in Crestview Elementary School by the minister of Kirkfield Park United Church and by student ministers until the Crestview structure was completed. Crestview United Church became officially recognized as a charge in 1966. On January 1, 1972, Crestview United Church and Kirkfield Park United Church amalgamated to become the United Church of Assiniboia; however, the amalgamated congregation faltered and a request was made of Winnipeg Presbytery in April of 1973 to reinstate the two separate charges of Crestview and Kirkfield Park. Since then, Crestview United Church has remained a self-sustaining charge. Crestview United Church is located at 316 Hamilton Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
The records of Crestview United Church that exist in the conference archives of Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario were created by the holder.
