Biographical history

Harold Bernard Owen (H.B.O.) Phillpotts (-1964) was a Baptist preacher, singer, and revival leader in the United States. He studied at Brandon College in Brandon, Manitoba and in 1912 married Florence A. Dodd. They moved to Anamosa, Iowa, where he was ordained in 1917. Phillpotts served as Dean, Northwestern Bible School in Minneapolis, MN from 1918 to 1926, after which he took a posting as assistant pastor in Wichita, KS. From 1930 to 1936, Phillpotts preached at First Baptist Church in Topeka, KS. The couple and their young family later moved to Ventura, California, where Phillpotts continued to serve the Baptist community. He died on August 14, 1964.
