Biographical history

Charles Clay was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1906 and worked as a journalist, author, publisher and cleric. In the late 1920s and early 1930s he lived in Nelson House, Manitoba. He received his B.A. in 1935 from Wesley College in Winnipeg.

Custodial history

The papers were donated to the University of Winnipeg Archives in 1981, and were likely donated by Alfred or Delza Longman.

Scope and content

The papers are arranged into one series comprised primarily of sermons written by Clay, and correspondence written by Clay and addressed to A.D. Longman (possibly Alfred Longman).
