The Cedar Hills Mennonite Church was founded in 1946 in New Westminster, B.C. It had begun as a Sunday school effort in 1941. The congregation joined the conference as an independent congregation, called New Westminster United Mennonite Church, in 1953. The membership was 40 in 1953. In 1960 the congregation changed its name to New Westminster Mennonite Church with a membership of 67. In 1965 they built a new meeting house and changed their name to the Cedar Hills Mennonite Church. In 1969 the membership was 109. The membership stood at 148 in 1978. In 2000 the membership was 93. In 1998 another congregation began meeting in the same meeting house. The leaders of the congregation were: Abe Neufeld (1953-1961), Klaus Kroeker (1962), Reuben Siemens (1963-1967), Delmar Epp (1968-1974), Rudy Goerzen (1975-1981), John Unrau (1982-1991), Clare Neufeld (1992-2001), Helmut Isaak (2002- ).

This fonds contains bulletins (1963-1998), correspondence (1959-1965), a brief congregational history (1960), annual reports (1968-1997), photograph : col : 12.5 X 6.5 cm (1975), directories (1976-1994), congregational meeting minutes (1976-1998), church council meeting minutes (1993-1998), and newsletters (1990-1998). The records pertain to the founding and development of the Mennonite congregation in New Westminster, B.C. They document some of the leaders and participants in the congregation.
